Care

How can we help?

Below are some of the ministries we offer at The Church at Northside.

  • Baby Pantry

Our baby pantry policy is one pack of diapers (between newborn and size 5) and one pack of wipes per child once a month. No initial signup is necessary; however, you do need to present a Texas ID Card or Drivers License with proof of address. The normal time for us to distribute these items is at our Sunday Evening Service. Anything else for the baby such as formula, car seats, strollers, or whatever else, we give away as it is donated to us. You can contact us and ask if we have them available. We do not generally buy anything outside of the diapers and wipes.

  • Birthday Cake Ministry

Our Birthday Cake Ministry is something we like to do for those who attend our church as a demonstration of our love for them. We will make them a homemade cake (the flavor of their choosing), and sing happy birthday to them at our Sunday Suppers. They can choose to share the cake or take it home but we do not make cakes for people to simply pick up and take to their own event. Contact us if this seems like something you’re interested in.

  • Car Repair

On a case, by case basis, we offer free car repair. We do not pay for people to have their car repaired but if or when we have the time or resources we may repair a car. We may respond to an emergency situation such as a stalled car, car not starting or other situation. In the event that we do look at a car for you, we may or may not require you to purchase the parts required to fix the problem. We simply do not have the time or resources to fix everyone’s car. We also advise that you do basic maintenance to prevent problems from happening in the first place such as regular oil changes (every 5,000 miles), and making sure your vehicle is full of the other essential fluids such as antifreeze/coolant, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid. We would love to help if we can. Just contact us and we’ll see what we can do.

  • Clothing Pantry

Our clothing pantry is open anytime we are available to anyone who needs clothes. Due to our current situation, you can:

    1. Contact us in advance to schedule something.

    2. Come by the TCAN (The Church at Northside) House for the events that are held there such as the Sunday Morning Bible Study, or Adult Bible Study on the first and third Fridays of the month.

  • Couples and Marriage Mentoring

If you would like to consider couples or marriage counseling we would be glad to help. We are not licensed counselors but people who love and follow Jesus. We only have Him and His Word to offer; good thing He is more than enough.

If you are not married but are considering it we would love to help. We do not believe in dating just to date. We believe that the goal of entering romantic relationships should be marriage, and if you’re not married then you shouldn’t cohabitate or live with the benefits of marriage without the responsibility. We don’t condemn those who cohabitate but encourage everyone to do relationships God’s way.

If you are married but need counseling we would love to help. God hates divorce and loves marriage. With that in mind, we believe that He provides everything necessary for a marriage to work. It’s just up to the couple to come to terms with Gods will for their marriage and we would like to help guide you there. Contact us so we can work something out.

  • Family Crisis Assistance

If your family has a crisis we are here for you. Pretty much any emergency you have you can call us. We will personally help or if necessary, point you in the right direction. Whether it’s officiating a funeral, a trip to the hospital, or feeling helpless for any reason please give us a call.

  • Food Pantry

Our food pantry distributes bags with basic items such as bread, peanut butter, pasta sauce, pasta, canned vegetables, soap, and other food and hygiene-related items. It is normally open at our Sunday Evening Service. No initial signup is necessary, but individuals can receive no more than one bag per month.

You will need to present a Texas ID or Drivers License with proof of address. Contact us if you would like any additional information.

  • Funerals

We’re sorry for your loss but glad you’re considering us to help you through this is in some way. Here are a couple of things you may need and how we may be able to help:

Officiator: If you need an officiator for a funeral we would be glad to help. Just contact us and we can work something out.

Support: Whatever you need- prayer, counseling, food…we’d be glad to help. Just let us know.

Venue: Unfortunately, we don’t currently have the space to host a funeral service. We’re sorry about that, but prayerfully it won’t be long before we have the facilities for it. But if you can provide the venue, we would be glad to help.

  • Furniture and Appliances Pantry

We have furniture and appliances that are donated to us. We then fix them if they need to be fixed, and distribute them to those who need them. You can contact us to see what, if anything, we have available. We would be glad to help if we can.

  • Home Visits

We would love to visit you in your home, whether it is a simple visit just to talk, to mediate some sort of problem, or to look at a problem with the house/apartment itself. Contact us anytime if you would like a visit to your home or to meet somewhere.

  • Parent Mentoring

If you need someone to talk to about parenting we would love to talk. Our children are very important, and they require a lot of attention. “Providing” for them is not just making sure they have food and clothing. Let’s talk about how you are doing with your relationship with your children or any problems you/they may be having. Call us anytime to see how we may be able to help.

  • Premarital Counseling

This is an important part. Marriage is a big decision to make, and a huge responsibility to keep up. We simply want to talk with you about what God says about marriage and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Venue: Unfortunately, we don’t currently have the space to host a wedding ceremony. We’re sorry about that, but prayerfully it won’t be long before we have the facilities for it. If you can provide the venue, we would be glad to help. But don’t let a venue stop you. We’ve married people in kitchens, gyms and living rooms. It’s getting married God’s way that counts, not a “traditional” wedding.

  • Weddings

Congratulations!… for your engagement anyway. The big day is yet to come. If you’re here for help with that day, or the time before or after, here are a few ways we may be able to do that:

Officiator: If you need an officiator for your wedding we would be glad to help. Just contact us and we can work something out.

Loving Jesus. Serving People. Making Disciples.
